Unleash your creative ideas and watch them take shape in the real world with our 3D design courses. You'll be tutored by experts in the field, work in industry-standard studios and learn from leading names in the business. We're proud of our students' successes, which include Furniture and Product Design BA graduate Tim Summers, who won the Heal's Discovers 2016 award with a desk he designed while studying at The Cass.

Our degrees will train you in traditional and digital workshop practice, and you will be taught in the newly refurbished, well-equipped and extensive workshops. Our courses are formulated to provide you with every opportunity to explore, aspire and innovate in the creative fields of 3D design.

"The highlight of my experience in London Met was the live project we undertook with Marks & Spencer. Not only was this an incredible experience at the time, but by maintaining this connection I am now employed by M&S only a few short months after my studies ended. It is this approach to practical skills and focus on careers that London Met should be commended for." Kate Woodhead

More about our 3D courses

At The Cass and in our 3D design area in particular, you will have the chance to explore the design and production of objects through research-active practical projects in which final objects are informed by both the requirements of industry and your ambition and talents as a designer and maker.

On all of our courses, creativity is an academic attribute that is expressed by physical manifestations of material output – in other words by making things intelligently through an enquiring and experimental approach. We believe that there is no substitute for the direct experience of making your designs for real with professional, industry-standard materials, processes and equipment, which is what you will do when studying with us. At The Cass, rather than spending your time watching others, or commissioning others to make your designs, you will make them yourself, and we are well equipped for you to do so.

Our courses consist of practical studio and workshop based making, in conjunction with design methods, communication techniques and contextual studies, enabling a well-rounded practice. All levels include live projects where final presentations give you experience in a stimulating, real-world environment. These opportunities to interact with industry leaders are invaluable in the development of engaged professional practice within the University.

Our employability record
Employability is at the heart of what we do. Here at London Met we are immensely proud of our employability record, with 97.19% of graduates from The Cass in work or further study within six months of graduating (Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education survey 2016–17, released July 2018).
