Exploring OpenAI as a tool for game development

About this event

Games Programming students’ assignment was to undertake some primary research into the use of OpenAI tools for developing a game or other interactive scenario, to write a report and demonstrate with working examples.

This presentation showcased their work, which included demos of procedural generation of 3D objects and in-game textures, code support to facilitate programming in C#, managed dialogue generation for in-game agents and as a fully realised and random dungeon game environment that remembers player movements and actions.

This project was further developed into a journal paper, co-authored by tutor Dr Fiona French with students David Levi, Aiste Simonaityte, Greg Varda, Csaba Maczo and Stefanos Triantafyllidis
