The School of Art, Architecture and Design at London Metropolitan University offers courses across a broad range of subject areas: art (encompassing fine art, photography, English, creative writing, theatre and performance practice), architecture (including spatial planning and urban design) and design, which includes 3D design (fashion, textiles, furniture, product and jewellery), interiors and visual communication.

Details of the subject sessions we will be running for the School of Art, Architecture and Design can be seen below.

3D Design, Fashion and Textiles – 3D surfaces and paper engineering Paper can create interesting shapes, movements and interactions, come and see what you can do! Bring paper, pencils and scissors or a craft knife and join in with this interractive taster session to find out more about our 3D design, fashion and textiles with Marianne Forrest from our School of Art, Architecture and Design. Architecture – A taster Join Sandra Denicke-Polcher and Sian Moxon, tutors on our Architecture BA (Hons), to watch and discuss a series of short films that give a flavour of what it's like to study architecture at London Met.  Join the Architecture session here
Creative Writing and English Literature – Literature and ecology In this session Trevor Norris, course leader for Creative Writing and English Literature BA (Hons), will give you an exciting taste of some of the texts and ideas that are covered in the degree.  Join the Creative Writing and English Literature session here
Fine Art – Collage and Photomontage: A Brief History and Practical Workshop Join lecturers Rosemarie McGoldrick and Mary Yacoob for a brief introduction into the use of collage and photomontage by the data art movement. We'll cover key innovators in photomontage, such as Hannah Höch, and the influence they have on writers such as William Burroughs and musicians such as David Bowie. Following this, you’ll be invited to make your own collages and photomontages. This will be a fun taster session to try out new techniques. To take part in the practical element of this session you will need drawing materials, scissors, glue, newspaper or magazine images, and any printed matter you have to hand that you would like to cut up and make into new artworks. Towards the end of the session you will have the opportunity to share what you have made with each other should you wish to (this part is not compulsory). Join the Fine Art session here
Foundation year degrees – Am I creative? Many of our courses in the School of Art, Architecture and Design are available with a foundation year, which is all about engagement, production and gaining enough direct experience to confirm your initial choice of subject area. Photography and Fashion Photography – Who is the photographer? During this session led by Paola Leonardi, Course Leader for Fashion Photgraphy BA (Hons), you'll explore some of the most influential photographers currently working in the industry.
