6th Annual Interdisciplinary Health and Wellbeing Research Conference

The Centre for Primary Health and Social Care and the School of Human Sciences at London Metropolitan University organised the 6th Annual Interdisciplinary Health and Wellbeing Research Conference.

Overall, the mission of this conference was to share our research showcasing new and in-progress projects conducted by London Met staff and students at all degree levels, to promote a catalyst for research collaborations, and to engage in lively discussions with our students.

We had 14 speakers with some great presentations and panel discussions from staff and students at the School of Social Sciences and Professions and the School of Human Sciences. We explored different dimensions of health and well-being through a range of topics:

  • Musculoskeletal injuries
  • Children’s Health
  • Telemedicine
  • Nutrition and type 2 diabetes
  • Consumption of free sugars
  • Natural products and human disease
  • Visual cognition
  • Fieldwork during COVID-19
  • Access to urgent and emergency services

The conference placed interdisciplinarity at the heart of the programme, and this was reflected in the areas represented, which this year include Psychology, Public Health, Physiotherapy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sports Sciences, Social Policy, Nutrition and Early Childhood.
