Garciagerman Arquitectos

Jacobo García-Germán (1974) is an architect (Madrid Polytechnic-ETSAM 2000), Histories & Theories MA by the Architectural Association, London (2003) and European PhD (ETSAM 2010).

Jacobo García-Germán is an architect and since 2005 he has been teaching at ETSAM, having taught, lectured and acted as jury in different universities worldwide. After working in the office of Rafael Moneo he founded GARCIAGERMAN ARQUITECTOS in 2003. He maintains a parallel activity as investigator, having lectured extensively and published several books, winning the FAD Prize in 2013 for Estrategias Operativas en Arquitectura. Técnicas de Proyecto de Price a Koolhaas. He has been a member of the Scientific Committee for the Spanish Pavilion of the XV Venice Architecture Biennale 2016 (Golden Lion Award), and currently codirects Arquitectura, official magazine of the Madrid’s Board of Architects (COAM).

GARCIAGERMAN ARQUITECTOS has completed works in different scales and programmes for public and private clients, having obtained amongst other awards, Mies van der Rohe European Union Architecture Prize Shortlist (2019), XIV BEAU Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo Prize (2018), CEMEX Prize (2018), FAD Finalist (2018), Fuera de Serie Prize (2017), Enor Prize Selection (2017), FAD Prize (2013), Mies van der Rohe European Union Architecture Prize Selection (2009), Europan First Prize (2001 and 2009), Madrid Town Hall Prizes (2003 and 2007) and EMVS First Prize (2003 and 2004). The office’s work has been widely published and exhibited.
