The application of Artificial Intelligence in food

23 November 2023

Dr Abdollah Ghavami hosted the Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST) South East Branch Annual Branch Meeting and Lecture on "The application of Artificial Intelligence in food" on 23 November 2023 at London Metropolitan University.

Some highlights from the lecture included a fascinating discussion on leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to defend against food fraud, how AI can be used to promote food safety culture and what does food integrity mean in the context of applying AI in food chains.

There was a lively Q&A followed by a networking buffet enjoyed by the attendees.

Many thanks to IFST and to the three amazing speakers: Aaron Day of Telus Agriculture & Consumer Goods, Professor Louise Manning of the University of Lincoln, John Points of John Points Consulting and to the Chair of the SE Branch, Dr Kiu Sum of Solent University, for a thoroughly stimulating discussion and evening.
