Sidona Assefa

Sidona Assefa is a current undergraduate student studying Health and Social Care BSc (Hons). We caught up with Sidona after winning the London Met IT competition to find out about her experiences at university so far.

Why did you choose to study at London Met?

The diversity within the University is what made me choose to study at London Met. 

Have you done a placement while you've been on the course? 

Yes, I am currently doing a work placement in research and evaluation – I am enjoying it so much.

What do you like best about your course? 

The Health and Social Care BSc (Hons) course is such an eye opener, it is something I can use in my everyday life as well as in my professional life. 

Did anything surprise you about your course or London Met? 

The amount of constructive feedback, the lecturers' dedication to help me succeed and the amount of support we get is is beyond what I expected. 

What do you like about life in London? 

It is a very diverse city – a great place to meet different kinds of people. 

What are your career plans? 

I plan on doing my master's in research and evaluation. 

Describe your experience in one word? 

Incredible! 

You entered the London Met IT competition and won. How did you feel when you found out you had won the competition?

At first, I couldn't believe what I was reading. It is such an amazing feeling to have won and I am glad I entered the competition – it means a lot. I can now work from home – my study time is not limited anymore.
