The United Nations (UN) has decided to extend its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with London Metropolitan University. First established in 2013, the continuation of the MoU represents a significant achievement for London Met and serves as the UN's recognition of the calibre of the University's courses in translation and interpreting, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

London Met is one of only 22 universities in the field worldwide that the United Nations has recognised with such an MoU.

The extension of the MoU allows London Met to consolidate the existing relationship with organisations within the UN and provides London Met students with a wealth of opportunities including internships, traineeships and organised visits to UN offices. Additionally, UN professionals will continue with their schedule of visits to London Met to share their experiences with students and staff, and will build on their close cooperation with the Translation and Interpreting team at London Met to develop their e-learning and virtual classes.
