Date: 05/10/2016
The Machine opens at The Barbican Theatre this week. It has been created by Theatre and Performance Practice BA graduate Francesca Hyde and her company Collectif and then..., winners of the prestigious Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award in 2016.
Upon leaving London Metropolitan University, Francesca undertook further training to develop her skills in circus performance before setting up her own company. In The Machine, she and her company bring a distinctive style of contemporary circus to a collaboration with Serbian collective Karkatag, makers of specially devised machines for participatory performance.
In this intimate production, glitter lights up the air and audience members might just work up a sweat!
