Date: 22 August 2019

Child Abuse Review, an internationally renowned and inter-disciplinary journal, has appointed Dr Denise Turner, Senior Lecturer for Social Work, as the Associate Editor for the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) section of the publication.

A key part of Dr Turner’s new role will be to proactively encourage and invite submissions from both practitioner and academic authors, spotlight the contributions made by professional practitioners, and also support first-time authors through the peer-review process.

Her appointment will enhance the opportunities for staff and London Met's local authority partners to contribute practice-related research to the journal, extending London Met's reputation at the heart of practice-based research and impact.

Dr Turner said: “I am very excited about the research culture at London Met under the new Vice-Chancellor and Pro Vice-Chancellor, Don MacRaild. I believe that research which makes a difference in the ‘real world’ is a part of the mission of the University, and so I am absolutely delighted to receive this invitation to be Associate Editor.

“As a high impact inter-disciplinary journal, my appointment further raises the status of London Met Social Work and creates opportunities for practitioners to publish in an internationally renowned journal.”

Child Abuse Review is an established and prestigious international, interdisciplinary journal providing a forum for research and developments related to child protection.
