Glenmorangie Annual Lecture

Cass Reader Simone Ten Hompel to deliver high profile talk at National Museums Scotland

Simone Ten Hompel, Reader in Metal at The Cass, will deliver the 2019 Glenmorangie Annual Lecture at National Museums Scotland on the 10th of October

At the lecture, award-winning silversmith Simone ten Hompel will discuss her commission from National Museums Scotland and The Glenmorangie Company to create a new piece of contemporary metal artwork inspired by the museum’s early medieval collections. Simone joins an illustrious line up of previous speakers including Cornelia Parker and Andy Goldsworthy.

The lecture is one of several high profile events for Simone this autumn. In September she will be showing work at The Tale of Things, a joint exhibition with Alessandra Pizzini at Bayerischer Kunstgewerbeverein in Munich from the 5 September until the 12 October. On the 19 September, she will be part of a panel discussing Dyslexia and Design as part of Design Junction during the 2019 London Design Festival.
