Prof Doc Students’ Research Contributes to Scottish and Emirates Polices Service Improvements
Richie Adams, a graduate of London Met's Professional Doctorate in Policing Security and Community Safety, has been given full-time overall responsibility to embed the new code of ethics for Police Scotland.
Richie, a serving senior police officer, chose policing ethics as his research area for his thesis. His thesis formed the basis of that work recommendations have already been implemented.
Further afield, Major General Mohammed al Raisi, a senior officer of the UAE Police, has also recently completed his D Prof Policing. His thesis research too is being directly applied into various reorganisations of the UAE Police.
Currently there are over thirty students on the D Prof Policing postgraduate course, including many international students, and thesis topics include financial regulation, anti-terrorism, public confidence in the police, comparative international security issues, local community police and society issues.
