London Met Associate Professor Victoria Neumark Jones has celebrated the achievement of Journalism graduate Emine Hassan in the Guardian's Clearing supplement. The supplement tells the story of five students who have been through clearing – [clearing is a service helping UK / EU nationals to find a place on a full-time higher education course starting in September].

Emine a BA Journalism student, who studied in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, beat off challenges from across all three years to clinch the title of London Met blogger of the year. Her website, mbakes.com, has been featured on Channel 4 news’ twitter feed and tumblr site. She is working as a photographer at Fair Cake, a baking school and her BA Journalism degree is among the top in the country for student satisfaction.
