How to book your Covid test

While the UK is slowly easing out of lockdown, it remains important to be cautious about the virus to ensure we all do our part to keep our communities safe. Students being taught on campus should undergo regular Covid testing throughout the rest of term, at our testing centres at Holloway Road and Aldgate.
You should be tested every time that you are on campus, and every week from now until the end of term, there is a £100 Amazon voucher prize up for grabs picked at random from each student who has a test. You will be entered automatically when you book your test.
Currently, not enough students are currently being tested for Covid, which puts our community at risk of spreading the virus and increasing the likelihood of new variants arising. 1 in 3 people with Covid don’t have symptoms, and adults under 40 have the highest asymptomatic transmission rate, and so it is crucial that this age group are regularly tested to beat this virus.
Getting regular rapid Covid tests once you return to campus is a quick and easy way to keep your friends and family, and London Met students and staff, safe.
What you need to know:
- Testing is quick: the test itself only takes a few minutes and you will have your result texted to you within an hour.
- Testing is private: your results will not be shared with London Met or your employers. If it is positive, however, NHS Track and Trace will get in touch with you and ask to isolate for ten days, to protect those around you.
- Testing keeps your friends and family safe: By getting tested when you don’t have symptoms, you will be helping the NHS to better understand the virus and fight COVID-19.
What you need to bring:
- Your ID card
- Your booking confirmation
- A phone
- A bottle of water
- A face mask or covering
- Hand sanitizer, if possible
