Easy-Jet talk for Guildhall Students

Expert in the aviation industry delivers a seminar to Guildhall Students

Date: 17/02/2015

London Guildhall Faculty of Business & Law Aviation management students were joined by Ms Ali Gayward, Commercial Director for easyJet who manages Non-UK based airports at the company.

The seminar started with the topic of how the aviation industry has moved from regulated to a deregulated where before only the two carriers of each country flying to each other were allowed to fly and since deregulation how companies such as easyJet and Ryanair have come along.

Ms Ali stated that easyJet focuses on a low cost base by stripping out as much costs as possible such as short turn around, paid catering on board, no lounges, extra charge for baggage, use of open plan offices and using the same aircraft type to keep maintenance, training and operating costs low.

She then carried on to how they operate, the focus of flights during early morning and evenings to suit business travelers due to popular demand as a result of the economic downturn and how their pricing structure reflects how they make profit (closer to departure means a higher price)

London Guildhall is always happy to welcome leaders in the industry to inform and inspire our students.  for more information on our courses click here. in addition have a look at our events currently scheduled.
