Cass Visual Communications lecturer speaks at international conference on semiotics.
Matthew [Caley] Hobson, Senior Lectrer in Graphic Design at The Cass was a speaker at the 2nd International Conference and Exhibition on Semiotics and Visual Communication: Culture of Seduction [the seduction of culture] between the 2 - 4 October 2015 in Lemesos/Cyprus.
At the conference Matthew gave a talk entitled Enchanted/Disenchanted – the designer and the image-repertoire - a reappraisal in 14 episodes.
His lecture will be written up in the conference’s second volume of selected proceedings by Cambridge Scholars Publishing due next year.
Matthew has also been on The Scientific Panel for both conferences. Matthew Hobson leads both the Press Pass Studio in The Visual Communications area of The Cass and the Excavating The Present dissertation studio.
His attendance was jointly-funded by The School of Design research fund and Cass Culture.
