Why study this course?

London Metropolitan University has been recognised by Cisco for providing the best delivery of the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) curriculum in Europe. Our Cisco Academy is one of the very few places in the UK to have been certified by Cisco Systems to provide CCNP training. This course is designed for CCNA-qualified networking engineers.

We also offer a full-time study option for this course.

More about this course

We offer part-time and weekend courses in computer networks and internetworking. These programmes are structured to teach you the skills needed to design, build and maintain computer networks, and enable successful candidates to take the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) examinations.

Cisco currently dominates the router market and networking professionals need to be familiar with Cisco technologies. Today's corporations depend on their information networks for mission-critical operations and are looking for highly-trained networking professionals to keep them up and running at maximum performance. Qualified networking experts are in short supply and they are therefore in high demand. There are currently more Cisco networking jobs available than professionals to fill them.

Please note, you will need a Windows-based PC or laptop with internet connection if you wish to study the material outside the University's premises.

Certification

The CCNP Enterprise Core and Advanced Routing curriculum helps you to prepare for the Cisco CCNP certification exams. The CCNP certification validates a network professional’s ability to install, configure and troubleshoot converged local and wide-area networks. The CCNP course offers a career development path for Cisco CCNA-certified network engineers and a solid foundation for those who are interested in the Cisco CCIE® certification.

There are two certifications:

  • Academy certification: upon completion of the CCNP course in the Cisco Networking Academy programme, you'll be awarded an academic certification for each individual CCNP module.
  • Industry certification: this can be taken in any Pearson VUE authorised testing centre. You must pay for your own test.

You'll earn a Networking Academy badge for completing this course and you'll be prepared for implementing and operation of Cisco Enterprise Core Technologies and for the Cisco Enterprise Core Technologies exam (350-401 ENCOR) that earns an Enterprise Core Specialist Certification (an industrial certification).

The CCNP Enterprise Core course prepares you for the concentration exam, implementing Cisco Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services (300-410 ENARSI) which completes your CCNP Enterprise Industry certification.
