Royal Institution Masterclasses

The University is proud to work in partnership with the Royal Institution (Ri) to run STEM masterclasses for enthusiastic students from our local schools and colleges. Ri Masterclasses are a series of six workshops where students can explore these subjects outside the confines of the classroom, through hands-on extra-curricular workshops. The masterclasses are led by professional scientists, engineers and mathematicians who are passionate about their subject and able to communicate complex concepts to a younger audience in a fun and creative way.

Since 2012, over 1000 young people have taken part in maths, engineering and computer science masteclasses at London Met.

In Autumn 2022, we are running six computer science workshops for Year 9s (aged 13-14), in collaboration with the Ri and Google. If you are a secondary school teacher and think your young people might be interested in attending, please email wpadmin@londonmet.ac.uk and we can add you to our mailing list for this and future series.
