Our Research and Knowledge Exchange policies

Our broad-ranging Research Policy expresses our concern to pursue research of all kinds to the highest standards. It also encourages research wherever possible in our community and by whoever among our academics and students wishes to pursue it. Our Research Ethics Policy and Procedures lays out our commitments. Our Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategy 2020/21 - 2024/25 reflects our commitment to the University Strategy and outlines how we are planning to achieve the ambitious goals set for ourselves.

We're also committed to pursuing research excellence – not simply in terms of intellectual rigour and academic quality, but also in terms of ethical and professional efficacy. This is why we endorse and uphold the Concordat to Support Research Integrity  and why we strive to achieve and uphold its values of the highest ethical standards. Our own specific Policy for Supporting Early Career Researchers  has been developed to support colleagues who are new to research or returning after a gap.

As a wider commitment to all colleagues, not just early-career researchers, our Vice-Chancellor has signed the University up to the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.
