ESTAR, is an architecture, landscape and design studio based in Santiago de Compostela.

ESTAR: The Form-Givers lecture series #1

ESTAR is an architecture, landscape and design studio established in 2011 by Aurora Armental Ruiz and Stefano Ciurlo Walker, based in Santiago de Compostela. The studio focuses on delicate work for buildings, cities and territories of historical and cultural value.

The lecture is the first in the Form-Givers lecture series at The Cass.

The speakers are:

Aurora Armental Ruiz, MLA MArch COAG
Aurora Armental Ruiz studied architecture in the ETSAB Barcelona (Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona), and completed postgraduate studies in Management of the Territory: Urbanism, Landscape, and Environment, UOC, Barcelona, and an MA in Landscape at the Escola Galega da Paisaxe. She has worked in the offices of Albert Viaplana and Martínez Lapeña and Elías Torres in Barcelona and at 6a and Maccreanor Lavington in London. She has also taught in the ETSAB Barcelona, and is the unit master at Kingston University and at the University of East London.

Stefano Ciurlo Walker, MA DipArch COAG SIA
Stefano Ciurlo Walker studied architecture in the ETSAB in Barcelona, the Architectural Association and at London Metropolitan University, and has completed an MA in Urban Transformation and Building Restoration at the University of Santiago de Compostela. He has worked at the Architecture Research Unit (ARU) with Professor Florian Beigel and Adams & Sutherland in London. He has taught at the ETSAB Barcelona, Nottingham University and at London Metropolitan University, and is also a unit master at Kingston University and the University of East London. In 2015 he was appointed Associate Professor with a special focus on architecture at the Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark.

The talks are free and open to the public, but booking is essential.
