John's current painting practice is informed by an interest in colour, geometric abstraction, emoticons and the culture of masks. He teaches on the Interior Design BA (Hons) and degrees with a foundation year in Art and Design, Fashion and Textiles, and Film, Photography and Media.
John Cash
John studied as a fine artist and completed his MA at Goldsmiths College. He has worked previously with The Agency Gallery in London and has shown in both solo and group exhibitions. His current painting practice is informed by an interest in colour, geometric abstraction, emoticons and the culture of masks.
He completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in 2007 and has taught at the Arts University College Bournemouth and more recently at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in the role of lead tutor for Illustration. Working at London Met since 1998, he was awarded Fellowship Status by the Higher Education Academy in 2008 in recognition of his expertise and commitment to the student learning experience, and has particular pedagogical research knowledge in the fields of collaborative learning and teaching for diversity.
