Physiology and Diabetes Research Interest Group seminar

Over 100 attendees including staff and students from across the University and five external partner institutions attended the event.

The physiology seminar involved eight mini lectures that offered engaging health related physiological topics which all gave a practical message. Talks were from Dr Folasade Ajayi, Dr Lucas Capalbo, Dr Abdollah Ghavami, Dr Matthew Lam, Laura Perry MSc, Dr Ben Hunter, Paul Starrs MSc, Dr Shawn McLaren, Dr Raymon Hunte and James Rutherford MSc.

The Diabetes Research Interest Group provided a series of six lectures on current research within the School of Human Sciences and with the addition of talks on exercise dose responses in diabetes and on the ethnic variations in diabetes risk. Talks were from Dr Eirini Meimaridou, Dr Una Fairbrother, Dr Cassandra Terry, Dr Priyanka Ganguly, Dr Dee Bhakta, Dr Ben Hunter and Preet Kainth MSc RD.

Thanks to financial support provided by the Physiological Society, a grant from the School of Human Sciences and the Outreach team. The event was organised by Dr Eirini Meimaridou and Christopher Chamberlin.
