Victoria Webb

Victoria is a Senior Lecturer in Secondary English PGCE at the School of Social Sciences and Professions.

For the past 22 years Victoria has taught in mixed comprehensive secondary schools in London. She has been a Head of Department, Assistant Principal and a Vice-Principal. She has an English Literature BA and a Children's Literature MA. She also completed her NPQH a few years ago. Victoria is delighted to be joining the ITE team at London Metropolitan University and is excited to work collaboratively with partner schools to shape the first steps of trainee teachers in their careers.

Victoria leads on the curriculum studies course for Secondary English. The course provides the foundations of knowledge, skills and understanding underpinning the teaching of English. As a result, trainee teachers can take the first steps in their careers, with confidence, in the secondary English classroom. We look at theories of learning and the craft of pedagogy. Reflective and deliberate practice allows trainees to translate their developing understanding into effective practice in the inclusive classroom. Specialist input is also given for the teaching of Drama and Media.
