More about Robert Russell

Robert is a conference interpreter with over 15 years of experience, working for international institutions and businesses.

He specialises in the translation of French, Portuguese, Spanish, German and Italian into English and was previously employed by the European Commission until 2020 as an in-house interpreter.

Having taught at a number of leading universities before joining London Met, he continues to combine teaching and his work as a freelance interpreter, primarily with institutions of the European Union.

At London Met, Robert is involved with training interpreting students, both in consecutive and simultaneous modes, and preparing them for professional life through mock conferences and practical work.

Robert's main interests lie in sharing his knowledge of the European Union from the inside and the theory and practice of conference interpreting.
