Richard is an artist who makes videos and performances as well as being a writer and an active member of Artists Union England.
Dr Richard Whitby makes videos and performances, and writes. He studied at Wimbledon College of Art and the Slade, and took part in the LUX Associate Artists Programme in 2012/13. His PhD, in Humanities and Cultural Studies, from the London Consortium was titled ‘The Arena Spectacular from Ben Hur Live to Isles of Wonder: Adaptation, Post-cinema and the Postcivil’. As an artist he has worked with Focal Point Gallery (2013), the Bluecoat (2014), CCA Glasgow and Seoul Museum of Art (both 2015).
