Alexandra Lalo, a Translation MA student, has had her translation work published in a renowned journal.

Based in France, the journal engages in current debates, continues its inquiry into the democratic form of life and maintains its commitment to justice. Alexandra’s translation appears in the magazine, Esprit. Her article is called La démocratie illibérale en Europe centrale.

Alexandra translated a highly specialised article on politics from English into French and was praised for her competent translation. The original article was written in English by Jacques Rupnik, director of research at the Centre d'études et de recherches internationales (Ceri). Alexandra’s translation appears in the June 2017 edition of the French journal.

“Translating such an interesting and complex article for this specialised review was an exciting challenge and a thrilling experience,” said Alexandra.

“Being published for the first time while still in the first year of my MA degree here at London Metropolitan University has been so rewarding!”
