The search is on for the next big business idea

London Met launches the 2017 Big Idea Challenge, a major enterprise competition for students and staff.

Date: 12 January 2017

Students and staff at London Met have the chance to turn their budding business ideas into real enterprise success thanks to the Big Idea Challenge – the University’s annual entrepreneurship competition.

Run by Accelerator, London Met’s business incubator based in Hoxton, the Big Idea Challenge offers the opportunity to realise the full potential of your ideas for business, social or creative projects.

Accelerator is calling all entrepreneurial spirits to share their ideas to have a chance of winning £30,000 of cash and other prizes.

The Big Idea Challenge is open to London Metropolitan students, graduates and staff, and looks for ideas in three categories: Creative, Commercial and Social Impact. Previous winners include an innovative and socially conscious legal service, a new medical business and a bakery-based social enterprise.

Apart from the cash prize, other prizes include free websites and business mentoring. Throughout the competition, candidates will learn how to develop their idea into a successful business model and how to pitch it to the world.
