Students accessorise the OXO Tower

Jewellery students from The Cass display bespoke jewellery during London Craft Week

Three students from the Alchemy Studio in London Met's Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design (The Cass) are exhibiting work at London's iconic OXO Tower, on the Southbank, later this week. 

The students teamed up with three designers from Cairo to exhibit their jewellery at Electrobloom Gallery, at the base of the tower, between 8 and 10 May.

Cross cultural creation

The pieces on show were created during a creative and cultural exchange called Tandemize, between students in the UK and Egypt.

Tandemize is a live project sponsored by the British Council Cairo in which the Jewellery and Silversmithing department at The Cass partners with the Design Studio Azza Fahmy; Egypt's first specialized jewellery institute in association with Alchimia School of Contemporary Design in Florence.

The exhibition includes work by CASS BA (Hons) Jewellery & Silversmithing students, Roxanne Simone Reynolds, Julia Trandafir, Saskia van der Knoll (Alchemy Studio) The Design School Azza Fahmy students are Amira Ayad , May Samir Wahdan and Adam Yousry

Electrobloom

Established by trained jeweller Mark Bloomfield, Electrobloom, housed in the OXO Tower, is a shop and exhibition space created to focus on the design and development of on-demand customisable accessories, gifts made using 3D printing, bespoke to each customer.
