Sports Business students present to Barclays Spaces for Sport

BA Sport Management Students present their designs to Barclays at Canary Wharf.

Students from BA Sports Management took on the challenge of designing a sports for development (S4D) intervention in response to a case study provided by Barclays Spaces for Sports as part of their module Sports Development and Governance.

One of our alumni, Vicky Lowe, who studied Sports Management MA uses the power of sport to give disadvantaged young people the skills they need to improve their prospects for the future. So far Barclays have invested £40 million in the UK and internationally.

The students were challenged to design a sport based intervention to tackle a social problem corresponding to the mission of Barclays Spaces for Sports. After weeks of planning, students were invited to present their ideas to Barclays staff at their global headquarters, where they enjoyed inspiring views over London’s iconic sports venue at the 02 Arena.
