Sociology and Social Policy students recently visited the Selby Trust in Tottenham to take part in a fundraising auction as an opportunity to informally meet staff at the centre.
Following the visit a new partnership between London Met and the Trust was launched. At its heart is an exciting and on-going internship programme. The Selby Trust is a multi-purpose community hub involving local organisations. The centre acts a shared place for over over 35 charitable organisations.
School of social science students have already begun a wide range of placements throughout the organisation with dozens more expected to be offered opportunities over the following year. This will provide valuable study related work experience for students as well as an important association between London Met and the local community.
