Date: 03/09/2014

PG Dip HRM alumni Helen Rideout recently had her work on employee risk management published by Kogan Page.

Helen studied on the Postgraduate Diploma in HRM course at London Metropolitan from 2009 to 2010 and is founder and MD of Savvy HR Ltd, a company that provides consultancy services to businesses on employment risk and reputation management. She has also guest lectured on diversity and fairness in recruitment for City University.

In researching the text, Helen interviewed one of her lecturers at London Met, Brian Critchley (her lecturer in employment relations) who commented that: “The text focuses on providing a practical guide to recognising the multiple challenges and threats of an increasingly complex employment terrain”.

The text, Employee Risk Management, provides a practical and up-to-the minute guide to identifying, managing and reducing the potential threats that come with every employee - as well as with anyone else who works for the organisation, including contractors, volunteers, interns and temps. It covers everything from recruitment through to the end of the employment relationship. Readers will learn how to protect against threats as diverse as: managing employee social media use, an ageing workforce, remote working risks, data security and data protection.

The text is available from 3 September 2014 from the website KoganPage.
