London Met Professor chairs technical panel at international conference

Professor Bal Virdee chaired a panel which saw experts propose new technologies, share their experiences and discuss future solutions for ICT design infrastructure.

Professor Bal Virdee was invited to chair a technical session at the seventh International Congress on Information and Communication Technology held in London, February 21 - 24 2022.

The objectives of this international conference were to enable academic and industry experts to:

  • Propose new technologies, share their experiences and discuss future solutions for design infrastructure for ICT, agriculture and rural development, mining and other inclusive technologies.
  • Provide a common platform for pioneering researchers, scientists, engineers and students to share their views and achievements.
  • Enrich technical experts by presenting their innovative and constructive ideas.
  • Focus on innovative issues at international level by bringing together experts from different countries.

Professor Virdee, Director of London Met's Research Centre for Communications Technology, said "Conferences such as this one are important in providing opportunities for researchers, academics, industry persons and students to interact and exchange ideas, experiences, and expertise.

"Presentations at the session I chaired were from a wide range of topics that included: DevOps Best Practices in Highly Regulated Industry, Smart Devices to Monitor Energy Usage in Industry, Radar Augmentation Using AI for Object Detection, Software Modelling in Biomedical Sciences, Ontology Modelling for Fire Evacuation, and others. I learned a great deal from these talks."
