Date: 17 July 2026
Students at London Metropolitan University are among the most satisfied in the UK, according to new analysis.
The 2026 National Student Survey (NSS) showed another year of improved student satisfaction for the Institution, with positive scores increasing across all ten themes measured.
Analysis by Times Higher Education revealed that London Met recorded an overall positivity score of 87.1 per cent in the Office for Students (OfS) survey.
This gave it the 14th highest score for student satisfaction of all UK universities – and the third best in London.
It was also a significant improvement from 83.9 per cent the year before, and 82.1 per cent in 2024.
Students at London Met were more satisfied with their course than those at almost every Russell Group university.
The analysis calculated what proportion of students at 140 UK universities had responded positively across the 26 questions posed by the OfS.
More than 360,000 students took part in this year’s NSS, with the results released on 8 July. It is the largest survey of its kind.
A separate analysis of the results by the Times newspaper also showed promising results. London Met recorded the 11th best overall score in the UK – and the eighth highest in England.
It found that students gave the University a grade of 88.6 per cent for Teaching, 88.3 per cent for Learning Opportunities, and 88.5 per cent for Assessments.
The NSS results showed broad strengths across the board for London Met with high scores for a range of categories, including Academic Support (89 per cent), Teaching (89 per cent), and Learning Opportunities (88 per cent).
And at subject level, the survey revealed that the University finished first in the UK for Pharmacology.
It also came in the top 10 nationally for Mathematics (fifth), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (sixth) and Management Studies (seventh).
