London Metropolitan University’s success in helping graduates get good jobs has been reaffirmed by data from Unistats.
Last year, a report by the Parthenon group ranked London Met among the top 20 universities in the country for adding ‘added value’ in helping students secure good jobs after graduating.
Now, figures show that particular courses, such as BA Accounting and Finance and BA Management, are leading the way in the sector, providing more higher paid jobs for London Met graduates than those from other institutions.
Kate Cooper, Subject Group Leader in Management Studies, said: “This is evidence that our recent focus on employability has paid off. Our course portfolio puts employability at the heart of our business and management curriculum.”
For Noreen Dawes, Subject Group Leader for Accounting and Business Law, the results reflect London Met's commitment to meeting students’ needs.
“Much of our efforts to focus on employability came directly from student feedback, such as the National Student Survey. Our degrees are linked closely with business to ensure our students are very employable when they graduate,” she said.
Such success for London Met graduates is a strong endorsement of the University’s efforts to boost student employability. Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education data has revealed that the starting salary of London Met graduates is now well above the UK average.
