HR diversity and equality research presented at London Met’s Social Justice Conference

Aidan McKearney, Dr Frances Tomlinson, Dr Kiran Kalsi, Dr Jane Neal-Smith and Dr Sue Shortland represented the HR and Management teams at London Met’s July Social Justice conference, presenting four papers on their research areas.

Aidan spoke on the topic of Employment Equality and Diversity Management in a Russian Context, based on his research work with Fiona Colgan. Kiran explored the Influence of Spirituality on the Careers of Older Female Entrepreneurs and Frances discussed Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Practice in the UK Voluntary Sector. Jane and Sue examined the Image of Women in Masculine Industries (aviation and oil and gas exploration) presenting a model on how gender stereotyping of roles in these industries can be challenged in order to raise women’s access and employment participation in these sectors.

HR staff are highly active researchers, publishing in top rated journals. They include their cutting edge research in teaching their HR students.
