Harriet Lewars, a 2013 graduate of BA Fine Art has been shortlisted for The Aesthetica Art Prize 2014. She is one of eight artists selected internationally for the exhibition which accompanies the prestigious annual award, of whom 3 are from the UK.
Showcasing innovative and outstanding pieces, the Aesthetica Art Prize Exhibition in York from 4 April to 22 June features shortlisted works from eight artists, with a video display of work by a further 92 artists from the longlist.
The medieval backdrop of York St Mary’s, York Art Gallery’s contemporary art space, provides a unique setting for the exhibition, challenging the notion of the white cube and inspiring a dialogue between the historic and the contemporary.
Harriet's Frustum project was developed as part of her Final major project on her BA Fine Art course, with support from the faculty music technology area, and was exhibited at The Cass Summer Show 2013.
The Winner of the award will be announced on the 3rd of April.
