Cass alumna's start up promises entertainment and stress relief - through wanton destruction
Destruction Chamber Ltd, a positively destructive new initiative by The Cass Theatre and Performance Practice graduate Iza Florina Porumbu will launch with events on 8 and 23 September. Destruction Chamber Ltd provides visitors with a safe and fun environment to destroy whatever is in the room.
Visitors enter through a warm-up chamber, where they get into safety gear and get pumped up ready to enter the destruction chamber. Armed with their choice of weapon and music they enter the destruction chamber which guarantees complete freedom to destroy everything in the room from crockery and furniture to the TV screen. Leaving the room, destructors enter a cool-down chamber where they can relax with some music and replace their baseball bat with a nice cup of tea.
Iza was a finalist in the London Metropolitan University Big Idea Challenge in March 2017 when the original concept was called Anger Rooms. From there, she won a place at the LaunchPad programme at the University's Accelerator. The team expanded with Holly Barker coming on board to develop the idea along with the ongoing support from the Accelerator team. Following a successful crowdfunding campaign, the chamber opens on 8 September.
Friday 8 September is the first launch/testing event and we would love to see you there. The top-secret location is Bromley-by-Bow and is open from 2pm-8pm. The next event is on 23 September in the same location.
Would-be smasher-uppers can book a place on the 8th here, register for notifications of future events including the 23rd September by emailing destructionchamber@gmail.com or follow on Instagram @DestructionChamber
