Criminology Lecturer presents at UN counter-terrorism conference in Burkina Faso

From 29 - 30 October Tim Parsons attended a UN conference on protecting human rights whilst countering terrorism held in Ouagadougou Burkina Faso.
 
The purpose of the conference was to assess future training needs for police forces from the region including Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Niger and the Ivory Coast. Tim ran a workshop on special investigative techniques and human rights compliance whilst investigating terrorist incidents.
 
Training of regional police forces is likely to begin early next year.
