"Corporate Social Responsibility is basically about everyone, both corporate and individual citizens of the world, behaving responsibly in all areas of human existence.”
London Met business school academic Samuel O Idowu has partnered up with Rene Schmidpeter from Cologne Business School as joint Editors-in-Chief of the new International Journal of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
What is CSR? Samuel is London Met's expert on CSR, and commented that “the fact that there is still no globally accepted definition, there is a general consensus and understanding that CSR is about finding solutions to social, economic and environmental challenges that could hold us back in meeting the needs of current and future generations. It is basically about everyone, both corporate and individual citizens of the world, behaving responsibly in all areas of human existence.”
Samuel has led several edited books on CSR and is the editor-in-chief of two of Springer’s reference books: Encyclopaedia of Corporate Social Responsibility and Dictionary of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Samuel also noted that “embedding CSR into our business courses opens the students’ mind to the other side of the corporate world.”
