Why study this course?

Our Open Language Programme is aimed at individuals looking to learn a language and develop their knowledge of it. There are a number of part-time modules that will help you develop these skills using a wide variety of teaching methods. Available at different levels, from beginner to advanced, each course combines face-to-face teaching with access to online materials and activities.

More about this course

The modules we offer include Arabic, English, French and Spanish. These modules can be taken as part of your course structure, as extra (paid/non-credited) modules or as a stand-alone course by members of the public.

Information for students

If the structure of your course allows you to take an Extension of Knowledge module, or an optional language module, you can opt to study a language through the Open Language Programme. If you are unsure that this applies to you, please check with your course leader.  Once your programme has been approved, come along to one of our evaluation sessions to complete your enrolment.

If you don't have the option to take an Extension of Knowledge module, you can sign up for the Open Language Programme as a paying student. Students who take an Open Language Programme module as a stand-alone course will receive a certificate of attendance only.

Members of the public

All our Open Language Programme courses are open to fee-paying members of the public. You'll be learning alongside university students and have access to all the learning resources the University has to offer.

London Metropolitan University is committed to ensuring the highest possible ethical standards in the research conducted by its staff and students.

Fees

Fees are £340 for one module or £550 for two modules.
