The Ministry of Defence Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme provides financial support for members of the Armed Forces.
Eligibility criteria
For full eligibility criteria please see the website of the Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS). Particularly significant eligibility criteria are summarised below.
- You must be serving in, or service leaver* of, the armed forces.
- You must have completed not less than six years of eligible service.
- You must reside in the UK.
* Service leavers who left the service after 17 July 2008.

How to apply
If you are applying for Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme financial support you should fully complete the claim for ELC by visiting the Ministry of Defence Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme website.
If you are applying for Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme financial support as service leaver you should submit evidence of your last day of service.
The University understands that most claims for ELC are normally made no earlier than three months before the start of a course, but the application must be completed by 25 days before the start of the course.
