The NIHR Health Determinants Research Collaboration

Health Determinants Research Collaboration in Tower Hamlets

We want to ensure that local research is resident-led and decision making is evidence-driven. To achieve this, London Met is a key partner in the NIHR’s flagship Health Determinants Research Collaboration in Tower Hamlets.

Health Determinants Research Collaborations create an evidence-informed culture within local government. They enable residents and local communities, researchers and local authorities to collaborate on research, and the council to use new and existing evidence to make decisions.

Our HDRC will make it easier to do high-quality, co-produced, applied, impactful research into health determinants and factors driving health inequalities. We will use research findings to benefit the health and wellbeing of Tower Hamlets and neighbouring communities. Our research will be:

· Applied

· Collaborative

· Coproduced

· Impactful

· Sustainable

· Trustworthy

Our first research priority has been confirmed as ‘healthy homes’. Find out more and get involved
