University racism complaints

To whom it may concern,

 

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, or the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, please provide me with the following information about complaints of racial harassment, assault and discrimination at the university.

N.B. I would like data for the following five academic years:

2014-15
2015-16
2016-17
2017-18
2018-19 (to date, if figures are available) 

If you only have information for some of the above years please provide what you have and explain the gaps in your data.

Student complaints

1.A Over the past six years, how many students have made formal complaints of racial harassment/assault and/or discrimination by other students?

1.B How many of these complaints were upheld?

1.C How many students were suspended or left the university as a result of these complaints?

2.A Over the past six years, how many students have made formal complaints of racial harassment/assault and/or discrimination by staff (academic and non-academic)?

2.B If recorded, please break down how many complaints were made against academic staff and non-academic staff.

2.C How many of these complaints were upheld?

Anonymous reporting

3.A Has the university introduced anonymous reporting for student complaints about racism?

3.B If so when was the system introduced?

Staff complaints

4.A Over the past six years, how many staff have made formal complaints of racial harassment and/or discrimination by other staff?

5. How many staff were suspended or dismissed/left the university as a result of complaints about racism by other staff and/or students?
