Student partnerships at the Centre for Equity and Inclusion

At the Centre for Equity and Inclusion, we believe students should have meaningful opportunities to shape the University and contribute to positive change within their University and wider communities.

London Met has a strong commitment to working with students as partners, recognising the knowledge, experiences and unique perspectives that students bring to the University community. Our student partnership programmes create opportunities for students to share their perspectives, influence decision making and work collaboratively with staff, the wider University community and external partners.

In 2020, London Met worked with students to co-create its Students as Partners Framework, which provides examples and guidance on how staff can work with students in partnership and embed partnership approaches across University life.

In 2021, the University worked in partnership with the Students’ Union and other stakeholders to develop London Met’s first Student Partnership Agreement. The Agreement sets out the values and principles that underpin our approach to partnership, supporting a shared understanding of what meaningful and effective partnership looks like.

Together, these provide a foundation for creating opportunities where students and staff can work collaboratively, share expertise and create positive change. Through our student partnership work, we aim to support students to have a meaningful voice, influence their University and make a positive impact within their wider communities.
