Karen Coughlan

Karen Coughlan is a Senior Lecturer in Fashion and Textiles at the School of Art, Architecture and Design.

Karen is a London-based knitwear specialist with a luxury portfolio that spans almost 20 years in the industry and has a serious neurosis for all things textile. Karen has a discerning client list in menswear, womenswear, knitwear, styling and art direction. She also designs and consults for luxury brands such as; Tom Ford, Edward Crutchley (Two time winner of the International Wool Prize) Louis Vuitton and heritage brand Pringle of Scotland, among many others.

Karen has been an educator since 2009 and has taught in Italy and the UK, across both undergraduate and postgraduate modules for textiles, fashion textiles, fashion, fashion knitwear and styling, notably at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art. She has been a Senior Lecturer and Studio Leader for the School of Art, Architecture and Design at London Met since 2013.
