Ewald joined the Research and Knowledge Exchange Office in September 2019 to support London Met’s research community in preparing and submitting high quality funding bids. After gaining a BSc in Biomolecular Science from the University of Portsmouth, Ewald completed a doctorate at the University of Oxford. After completing his studies he began work as a researcher in protein biochemistry at Exeter, Wake Forest (USA) and King’s College London.
Ewald gained experience in drug discovery research at Cancer Research UK's Therapeutic Discovery Laboratories and in freelance manuscript work, before switching to scientific writing and providing funding advice at the Crick Institute, Institute of Cancer Research and Brunel University London. Ewald has also administered research grant funding at Cancer Research UK.
