Prospective students felt most positive and were more likely to continue engaging with London Metropolitan University than with any other UK institution according to a new study published today.
The Enquiry Experience Tracker is an annual mystery shopping study that helps higher education institutions understand how well they respond to enquiries from mystery shoppers posing as prospective students. Developed by education industry experts Edified and student conversion specialists UniQuest, the research helps universities to benchmark their enquiry experience against competitors globally.
The Student Favourite award is given to recognise the institution rated most favourably by mystery shoppers in each region of the world. It is based on mystery shopper responses to questions about sentiment and their level of interest after making an enquiry to an institution.
Mystery shoppers are asked to describe their emotional state after engaging with each institution and to indicate how likely they would be to explore further. It is a subjective assessment based on the feelings and preferences of each mystery shopper.
Gary Davies, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at London Metropolitan University, said: "Participating in the Enquiry Experience Tracker is a brilliant benchmarking opportunity to see how we compare to other institutions globally. We recognise the importance of delivering a good enquiry experience and were thrilled to be named as student favourite in the UK. It’s testament to the hard work of our recruitment and enquiries teams over the past year."
In 2022, 107 universities are included in the Enquiry Experience Tracker research, 38 of which are UK institutions.
