Modern and Traditional Upholstery Awards 2016

Upholstery students honoured at June awards presentation at London Met's Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design.

We were delighted to celebrate with over 100 upholstery short course students as they were presented with their stage 1 Craft certificates, stage 2 Intermediate Craft certificates and stage 3 Diploma certificates, upon completion of a year’s hard work. The presentation was on 18 June.

London Met's Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design announced the introduction of the accredited Modern and Traditional Upholstery short course, in September 2015. The course is recognised by the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers (AMUSF).

President of AMUSF, Des Fanning, was present to give students their qualifications, alongside tutors Franco Marinelli (also course organiser), Malcolm Hopkins, Matthew Gates and Rachael South and Upholstery Technician, Jude Dennis. A sense of pride was evident throughout the day among both students and tutors.

Congratulations to our upholstery students. We look forward to welcoming you back at the beginning of the next academic year.
