Jewellery and Silversmithing students from The Cass exhibit at Contemporary Applied Arts in London.
Date: 14 February 2018
13-19 February 2018
Material Romance, a new exhibition of work by The Cass students, opened at the prestigious Contemporary Applied Arts (CAA) in London, yesterday.
The exhibition celebrates materiality, the passion for and exploration of raw materials and their transformation into objects of desire. A love of experimentation combined with the pleasure of creating is revealed in works by makers in the early stages of their careers, eager to embrace new opportunities.
The designer/makers of the exhibits are all students on the Jewellery & Silversmithing degree course at The Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design. Their pieces demonstrate a wide-ranging, individual interpretation of the theme of Material Romance, in a variety of responses that reflects the diversity of the group, both culturally and creatively.
Artists: Thom Amar, Ajike Doherty, Margaret Conroy, Irina Golda, Divya Madhani, Natalie Mansour, Nicola Margai, Maria Gower, Megan Haggis, Louise Mason, Petra Otenslegrova, Nicola Trowers, Jemma Whitehouse, Dominik Wiecek.
The group, who are presently fundraising for their exhibition at New Designers in July 2018 can be followed on social media on
Pieces will be available to purchase.
