Date: 19/03/2015

Dr Stephen Hills, a senior lecturer on both the BA Sports Business Management and MA in Sports Management, has been selected by the NFL (National Football League) to consult on its Sport 4 Development initiatives in London, as they continue to focus on this lucrative sports market with three games at Wembley Stadium this year.

Dr Hills will work alongside colleagues from Texas A&M University to evaluate the NFL's Play 60 programme, aiming to increase levels of physical activity and enhance character-related traits, which is being piloted in two London boroughs this year, before a planned roll out across all London boroughs next year.

Dr Hills commented: "I developed a love for American Football whilst studying for my PhD at Florida State University in the States and I am delighted to be able to support the NFL as they seek to create a legacy in London." He added: "I hope my connections with the NFL will yield some lucrative placements for our students."
